Breaking: 7 wounded in explosion in Tel Aviv (UPDATED)

Seven people have been wounded when a car exploded next to a bus on Jabotinsky Street in Tel Aviv.

It is not yet clear whether this was a terror attack or a criminal act. More details to follow in this space as available.

UPDATE 1:31 PM

Israel Radio reporting that the car that exploded was on Menachem Begin Boulevard and was owned by a member of the Alperon crime family. The police believe this was an attempt to liquidate that member of the Alperon crime family by hiding a bomb in his car.

UPDATE 1:35 PM

Eyewitness says that empty Mazada 626  suddenly caught fire - passengers managed to flee. I have heard from an epal that there was a scooter that drove up alongside the Mazda just before the explosion.

Israel Radio reporting only three people lightly wounded brought to hospital.
