Al Jazeera: Explosion next to Haniyeh's house?

Israel Radio has just reported from al-Jazeera that an explosion has just occurred next to the home of Ismail Haniyeh. More details to follow as they come in.

UPDATE 5:21 PM

There was an attack on a Hamas police station near Haniyeh's house - not on Haniyeh's house itself. No casualties in that attack. (The report's implication was that the attack came from the IAF, but that was left unsaid).

An attack on Haniyeh's house would be a waste of time, and at most be a symbolic gesture. The downside risk is that he turned his house into a handicapped children daycare.

Alex Fishman on Ynetnews says Hamas controls the degree of the flame and Israel is reacting to. He's right - all Israel's leaders are doing is fumbling around and they have no real plan or strategy for stopping the terror from Gaza.

NormanF,

Yes, this has been one of the problems all along - there is no strategy. The same was true in Lebanon two summers ago.

The other side of the coin is that the government looks for other people to fight our battles.
